The 7 LEVELS DEEP Exercise

To

Nail Your Heartfelt WHY…

What is the ultimate driving force to make sure you follow through

to intentionally BE the person, the parent, the business person, the friend,

the woman, the man, that you MUST BE to create what you really want?

The 7 Levels Deep Steps:

1. What is it that you really want?

Example: In the realm of my divorce, I wanted to create An Environment of Divorce Where My Daughter Would Thrive.

What is it that you really what (for your kids, for you?) A mutual co-parenting situation? Inner peace? Calmness? Something else?

LEVEL 1: Why do you want what you want?

Example: Why do I want to create an environment of divorce where my child will thrive?

Because she deserves better than the anger her mother and I have been exhibiting?

LEVEL 2: Why is it important to me that my daughter deserves better than the anger her mother and I have been exhibiting?

Because I do not want to teach my daughter how to be angry, I want to teach her how to be calm, rational, and reasonable in figuring things out in a relationship.

LEVEL 3: Why is it important to me to teach my daughter how to be calm, rational, and reasonable in figuring things out in a relationship?

Because I want my daughter to know how much I love her and this begins with my own behavior.

LEVEL 4: Why is it important to me for my daughter to know how much I love her beginning with my own behavior?

Because I understand that every time I react with anger, I have lost control of myself, of the interaction, and as a result I will rarely get what I want from the other person, and this is NOT something I want to teach my daughter.

LEVEL 5: Why is it important to me  to NOT teach my daughter to react with anger when things don’t go her way?

Because I realize that everything I say and do teaches and impacts my daughter and I want to teach her how to be calm, be clear on what she really wants, and how to intentionally be the person it takes to create what she wants.

LEVEL 6: Why is it important to me to teach my daughter via my example how to intentionally be the person it takes to create what she wants?

Because I realize that when things aren’t going “my way”, it’s important to be calm and reasonable, and to think things through to decide what is the best action, the best way to respond in order to work things out, i.e., to create more of what I want, NOT what I don’t want.

LEVEL 7: Why is it important to me to teach my daughter how to think things through to decide what is the best action, the best way to work things out?

Because I want to set an example for her that teaches her how to be the best version of her that she can be, and this begins with me, the man in the mirror.
